God and drugs and me
Highly recommend this one for anyone with a fundamentally religious background or near cultural/family influence. It does such a good job of showing the history of the eucharist as it was before the catholic church for many thousands of years. History did not begin 10,000 years ago around the time homosapiens began writing things down and staying in one place and farming. We have been here in various forms for millions of years and while it is difficult to say exactly when the interest in our own selves as we could sense it (earthly) vs what we experienced as somehow beyond the dust first began, it may have first started with or at least been significantly aided by the discovery of mind/mood alterning substances from plants, molds from beers, spiked wines, etc.
I am one for sure who will testify that some of my most significant experiences in life have been associated with the ingesting of psilocybin in large doses. Today I still enjoy microdosing now and then. With the proper preparation and guidance and environment I think these plant “medicines” can have a substantial and lasting impact on the psyche and emotional state of most anyone. I am very pleased to witness a more widespread understanding happening now of the benefits substantiated by many legitimate studies conducted by well resepcted institutions and researchers.
